HOW I CHOOSE THE PLACES IN THIS GUIDE

Every place is a ten. For its own reason.

Every place here has something I want to recommend. That is my “10/10”: a reason to go, rather than a total that puts one restaurant above another. I visit the places myself and use my own photos, so you can see the food and storefront before deciding.

Different places. Different reasons.

Choose for your appetite, budget, hours, location and payment needs. A handmade tortilla and a practical breakfast can each earn their place here.

  • El Arbolito

Tortillas and generous portions worth the trip near Puerto Aventuras.

  • La Floresta

My seafood pick: go straight for shrimp tacos.

  • Lonchería Doña Mary

Salbutes, smoothies and the chicken caldo I recommend most.

The useful part is in the notes.

Photos, menu prices and practical details explain what I like and what could improve. If the fillings were less hot than I wanted, I say so.

My “11/10” for El Arbolito’s tortillas and generous portions expresses enthusiasm about those details. Numbers in a visit note describe a specific impression; I do not combine them into a restaurant score.

Google Maps is a separate set of opinions.

Google Maps ratings, when shown, are a separate public average on a five-star scale. I show the review count and date checked alongside them. They reflect other visitors’ opinions and can change.
