Generous tacos.
A very full torta.

My note was short: “Huge portions and juicy carnitas!” The photos show what I meant: tacos heaped with chopped pork and a torta with a generous filling.

This is Carnitas Estilo Puebla in the Puerto Aventuras poblado, outside Playa del Carmen. Plan it as a separate stop when you are in the area and check the opening hours before travelling.

The photographed sign lists tacos for 35 MXN, tortas for 60 MXN and drinks for 30 MXN. Carnitas are also sold by weight, from a quarter kilo for 100 MXN to a kilo for 400 MXN.

Each taco comes with two tortillas and so much filling that I can redistribute the meat from two tacos into three. It is a useful little trick when you order here.
